THE
STORY:
It
started with a Sharpie marker and pair of sneakers inside
a freshman dorm. After years of fanatical research and
development, T.Way (legal name: Tyler Way) finally
sold himself on his product. Never accepting "No"
as an answer and through countless trials of dedication
and persistence, he built a network with the most
powerful names in sports. T.Way now custom
designs and freehand paints (without stencils, tape,
etc.) sneakers for clients including Chris Paul's charity auction, LeBron James, Tayshaun Prince,
Rip Hamilton, and the most powerful man in sports: Worldwide Wes. His sneakers are coveted
works of art and define the word "exclusive."
This website is dedicated to YOU as living proof that

NEW
VIDEO: THE CHRIS PAUL CHARITY WEEKEND AND AUCTION
The go-to video dude, Lindsey Adams, did it again. This little video features some of the highlights from the North Carolina trip to Chris Paul's Winston-Salem Charity Weekend. As you will or have seen in the video, T.Way donated a pair of custom sneakers for the Live Auction which benefited the Chris Paul Foundation after selling for $3,750. CP3 was actually outbid on these shoes...by his Grandpa. More information and pictures of the shoes and trip can be found a few posts below as well as on T.Way's blog: http://www.twaycustoms.blogspot.com
Thanks again to all those involved and made the event such a big success. Thanks to JStew and the crew at All City Kicks sneaker boutique in Grand Rapids, MI for donating the originally all-white Nike RT1 sneakers. Thank you Jennifer Keene, Adrienne Rehm, Lindsey Adams, and Kim Way!
*You can WIN these sneakers* This pair was commissioned by the athletic apparel company CRONS (which stands for "Come Ready Or Never Start") based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Their CEO, Pat Cavanaugh, played hoops at Pitt and started the brand CRONS with the mindset that if you work harder than everyone else and ignore the negative noise around you, then any dream is possible. Sound familiar? That's because it sounds exactly like the same story the T.Way brand is founded upon...which explains why this collaboration project was such a great one to be a part of.
You can WIN this pair of sneakers through a contest on SLAMonline.com, click HERE to enter! For more info about the CRONS brand, visit their site: http://www.crons.com
This sneaker project commemorates my grandpa's induction into the Ferris State University Hall of Fame. He served as their Athletic Director for over 20 years and racked up numerous accolades during that time. The Ferris State bulldog logo was designed
by my Uncle Terry a number of years ago. The logo has since been seen all over the world, and is obviously the focal point in this pair. Considering the facts that my uncle designed the University's logo and that these were a surprise gift to my grandpa for his HOF induction, this project is one of the most special I've been able to be a part of thus far. The expression on my grandpa's face was priceless when we surprised him with these.
*These sneakers auctioned for nearly $4,000 at Chris Paul's Winston-Salem Charity Weekend as part of the Live Auction during the Gala - read how CP3 was outbid on them HERE. Inspired by Chris Paul’s on-court anatomy of superior court vision, extensive basketball IQ, and committed love for the game, these sneakers were freehand painted by T.Way and auctioned off on September 26, 2009. The original all-white Nike RT1 sneakers were graciously donated by the All City Kicks sneaker boutique in Grand Rapids, MI - look out for ACK co-owner JStew making a brief cameo during the video, haha!
This old Raleigh bike was in poor condition until T.Way took it apart and did what he always does: customize. The frame was inspired from a few sneakers in his collection, the Nike Marty McFly "Back to the Future" Hyperdunks and pair of Jordan 2.5's. Yes, these are the sneakers many of you have been hearing about for practically months! T.Way presented these to LeBron following his MVP announcement press conference in Akron. You can read all about T.Way's excursion to deliver the shoes to the MVP on the [BLOG] (More pictures in GalleryThree). Directed by T.Way, photographed by Mike Berluchhi, and music by Adam Hopkins, this photoshoot required over 200 pictures to rightfully attempt to capture these MVP sneakers. Although best seen in person, these hundreds of snapshots are the second best thing. These sneakers have received a great amount of attention of numerous media sources. About
this time of year in the northern states people are
itching for Spring. In the case of T.Way,
he's been itching like an addict for warm weather since
the season's first snow fall months ago. His tipping
point was last week after West Michigan was dumped on
with snow and ice day after day after day. To temper
his frustrations, Tyler took an old school pair of Nike
Air Forces and for lack of a better word, was inspired
by Michigan's extremely cold, but also extremely beautiful,
winter landscapes. More pictures in GalleryThree..................................................................................................................................................
NEW
SNEAKERS...WAIT, NO - NEW HEADPHONES??
A
new project upon special request from a friend led T.Way to touch on the best pair of headphones in the
industry: Beats by Dre. You can find
additional pictures in GalleryThree.
His
fiance hoped to keep these sneakers a surprise for his
February
birthday present...That plan was quickly broken as Rip
persistently asked and requested to see his sixth pair
of T.WayCustoms sneakers. Artist T.Way said this
pair was one of his most special because since "Little
Rip" (aka "Deuce") was born last October,
Way has witnessed how Rip's life has changed with the
birth of his first son. Click GalleryThree
